Hilos / Threads

In each leaf

  is the tree,

  time and life,

the memories of the sun and the wind,

  the nostalgia of growth.
In each leaf

is the unsure promise of the future,

and the important task of keep threading itself into what comes,

and feel in the skin, everything.

life lesson / lección de vida

Today I learned that clouds talk to each other.
They use the starred sky as a map to connect through lightning, no matter the distance or the volcanoes in between.
With patience, they reach out to each other speaking in colors. They finish the deep conversation of light in a caress of raindrops.

And I also learned I am thankful I was able to witness this softness, with an almost full moon as a companion and minutes that turned into an hour.

flor y abeja / flower and bee

The flower sweetens the bee with her nectar and color,
but the bee woos her as well
It dances, surrounding her, touching her petals,
not fully holding, but just touching here and there
She smells her, I'm sure she smells her,
that corner, that union between pistil and center
The bee also sings to her, and she brings memories of buzzing and pollen from other distant flowers
It's like traveling together.
The flower allows herself this joy and shares herself with this extraordinary creature, that flies!
The flower opens up, just a little, to allow a kiss inside, between neck and shoulder
And thus, flower and bee explode in a long instant that is theirs, between lines and temporary connection

Ink / Tinta

For my mom, my sister, grandmothers and great-grandmother

It runs in my veins
The desire to speak up and fight
The excitement for food and smiles
     The fire to dance
The wisdom to stop and smell the flowers
     The urgency for deep hugs
The hunger for learning and growing continuously
The courage to be faithful to one self
Lines of women that have met like rivers
Resilient travelers, loving healers, warriors
Writers of their own story

_____

Viajeras resilientes, sanadoras amorosas, guerreras
Escritoras de su propia historia
